It’s All Fun & Games

At the core of Disney TVA and Disney XD’s Social Media presence, they’re fun and irreverent places for witches apprentices, magical princesses, trillion year-old dream demons, and time-traveling worms with abs of steel. With all that in mind, it’s no wonder I’ve had so much fun with our content!

Grom Date

To hype up a pivotal episode of “The Owl House” centered on the show’s version of Prom, I worked with the show team to obtain Character Design files of the different outfits worn in the episode. In what I’ve dubbed “Urgency-through-Engagement,” this highly-engaging activity allowed fans to participate in a gamified post, and allowed us to drive them to the episode without hammering them with tune-in messaging.

Melty Character Popsicle Game

The Disney XD On-Air Promotions team created a series of melting popsicle videos in support of the “Summer Melty” campaign. The pieces started with the solid popsicle, and then they used a heat gun to melt it into a colorful puddle. They asked me to post them onto our Social accounts, but I believed our audience needed more engagement beyond watching ice melt. Using a “Points Countdown” mechanism, I created a successful series in which the footage was reversed and the fans had to guess what the popsicle would lead to… I thought it’d be difficult, but many fans claimed they figured it out before the un-melting even began!

Star's Text Drawing

I saw a colleague wearing a “Rocky” tee, where the boxer’s body was made using famous quotes from the movie. I thought our audience would enjoy seeing the main character in our popular animated series, “Star vs. The Forces of Evil” made from her magic spells, so I sent the idea to our Social Agency. They added some motion graphics to it, and now it’s one of my favorite pieces I’ve been a part of!
